Family home interior, Bangkok

Our Story

Built on the belief that tidy households and thoughtful conversations go hand in hand

Kinforge was founded in Bangkok to give families the practical tools they rarely find in one place — document organisation, respectful communication, and a way to write down the stories that hold families together.

About Kinforge

Where the name comes from

The word "Kinforge" joins two ideas: kin — the family and the people we are bound to — and forge, the act of making something with care and intention. That combination shapes everything we do. The programmes at Kinforge are about making things: orderly filing systems, clearer conversations, and printed binders full of family writing that might otherwise go unrecorded.

The organisation was established in Bangkok's Watthana district by a small group of educators and family practitioners who noticed a gap. Families often know what they need — a better way to track their documents, a framework for discussing a house move, a method for writing down Grandma's stories — but rarely find it presented in one place, in accessible language, at a reasonable cost.

Kinforge brings these three areas together under one roof: paperwork organisation as a learnable skill, family communication as a practice worth studying, and generational storytelling as a household project with lasting value.

Our mission

To give Bangkok families practical, well-structured tools for the parts of household life that rarely come with instructions — paperwork, conversation, and memory.

How we work

Every programme is designed around doing, not just listening. Participants leave with printed materials, completed templates, or a structured draft — something tangible that continues working at home after the session ends.

Our values

We keep our scope honest. Kinforge addresses ordinary household situations — not matters requiring legal, medical, or therapeutic professionals. We say that clearly in every session.

How we operate

Programme standards and delivery principles

Every Kinforge programme is designed, delivered, and reviewed against a consistent set of principles.

Evidence-informed content

Workshop content is drawn from published sources in family education, organisational psychology, and oral history. We reference source material in facilitator notes and can share reading lists on request.

Small group sizes

In-person workshops run with a maximum of 12 participating households. This keeps discussions focused and allows facilitators to address the specific situations each family brings to the session.

Printed, take-home materials

Every programme includes printed templates, workbooks, or binders. Materials are reviewed annually and updated when sources or best-practice guidance changes.

Clear scope and honesty

Kinforge facilitators are trained to recognise when a family situation falls outside the educational scope of a programme. Participants are always directed to appropriate professional services when warranted.

Participant privacy

Personal information shared during workshops remains confidential and is not shared between cohorts. Our data handling practices are detailed in the Privacy Policy available on this website.

Regular programme review

Each programme is reviewed after every cohort using participant feedback. Updates to materials, session structure, and facilitation approach are made on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Our expertise

Family education rooted in practical household knowledge

Kinforge works in three areas that share a common thread: the everyday management of household life. Paperwork accumulates in every home — identification documents, ownership records, schooling correspondence, utility files — and most households have no organised system for handling it. The Household Paperwork Organisation Course addresses that gap with a structured, procedural approach that families can set up once and maintain with modest effort.

Family communication occupies a different register. The way households talk about change — a new address, a new sibling, an altered weekly schedule — shapes how settled or unsettled each family member feels through that period. The Family Communication Workshop draws on a body of published family education research to give households a shared vocabulary and a set of practical frameworks for navigating these ordinary but sometimes disorienting transitions.

The Generational Story Project Workshop addresses something less urgent but equally worth doing: the collection and writing down of family stories. Stories held by older family members have a way of disappearing when they are not sought out and recorded. The workshop teaches interviewing techniques, note-taking practices, and a simple binder format for keeping the resulting writing organised and accessible at home.

Kinforge is based in the Phrom Phong area of Bangkok's Watthana district, a central location with easy BTS access. All three programmes are currently delivered in English. Sessions are held on weekday mornings and selected Saturdays to accommodate working households.
